Certified Nursing Assistant – Wound Care Center

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for performing various clinical and non‑clinical patient care services for the Wound Care Center. Functions typically include assisting the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in preparing patients for examination, gathering and reporting patient data, and cleaning unit equipment and areas. These tasks are accomplished according to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Center, as well as federal, state, and CMS regulations.

• Coordinate the delivery of patient services prior to, during, and after visits/examinations with the RN or LPN/LVN, assisting with mobility, transfers, positioning, and proper use of orthosis/prosthesis or adaptive devices.
• Dress patient wounds as delegated by the RN.
• Assist in vein clinic care after completion of Healogics Vein Clinic training.
• Assist RN or LPN/LVN during intake/discharge: collect and record vital data (TPR, BP, blood sugar), take wound photographs and measurements, track observed responses to treatment, and report unusual observations or changes.
• Collect specimens as requested and complete unit tasks such as cleaning exam areas, hyperbaric gurneys and chambers, and sterile instrument processing.
• Perform Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) therapy duties as required, following Healogics Hyperbaric training.
• Perform other duties as requested.

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, maintained throughout employment.
• Six (6) or more months of experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit (preferred).

• Demonstrated competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service and follow‑up skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Teamwork, problem‑solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Stationary position for extended periods (4+ hours).
• Viewing computer screen and keying frequently (4+ hours).
• Reading, communicating, and maintaining close, distance, and peripheral vision.
• Lifting or moving items up to 75 pounds, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and grasping.

• Normal office and primarily indoor settings.
• Patient care environment with exposure to hazards such as blood‑borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, and flammable gases.
• Exposure to mechanical equipment and proximity to moving objects.

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $17.13 and $21.38. This range is an estimate based on education, experience, geography, and operational needs, as permitted by law.
