Position OverviewThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. They prepare patients during office visits and assist patients and family members before, during, and after a doctor’s visit.
Responsibilities- Perform general nursing care to patients, including phone and in-person triage.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assist with preparation of equipment and aid physician during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.
- Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics, and additional information such as test results in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Administer injections and prescribed medications as directed by the physician.
- Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the physician.
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination, screen patients for appropriate information and instruct patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, instruct patients and family members regarding medications, test results and treatment instructions.
- Assist with referrals and medication refills.
- Maintain patient recall lists.
- Formulate and update patient care plans, order, prepare, and inspect patient charts, record test and examination results in the chart.
- Prepare examination rooms, including restocking of supplies in treatment areas.
- Attend required meetings and participate in team activities and professional development activities.
- Represent the division in a professional manner, treating all patients, customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
- Demonstrate and embody the Women’s Care mission and core values.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of one year nursing experience in a clinic environment; OBGYN experience strongly preferred.
- Valid Florida RN license and BLS/CPR certification.
- Ability to work in a stressful, deadline‑oriented environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, preferably eCW.
- Effective communication skills with coworkers, providers, and patients.
- Proficiency in using a computer and entering data in an electronic medical record system.
