Registered Nurse, PEAK OR, Internal Traveler, Baptist Dowtown

Baptist Downtown is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Main OR Team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a short-term contracted position requiring a commitment of 36-40 hours per week for 12-13 weeks. This is a full-time position.

In this role you will work closely with skilled physicians and operating teams. Your day will start with a check-in and patient assignments. Depending on the day's surgery schedule you may work with a singular patient for a complex case, or you may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. As a circulator you will only ever work with one patient at a time.

You will meet your patients in the OR, and you will remain with them for the duration of their procedure and ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a nurse circulator you will be the patient's primary advocate, responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.

• Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition.
• Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.
• Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care.
• Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital.
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
• Act as the patient advocate
• Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
• This position will require call.

• 2-3 years Operating Room Circulating Nursing Experience Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
• Associate of Science, Nursing

This RN Internal Traveler, Surgical Services position will be located at Baptist Downtown.
