Free Standing ER RN

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse at the brand-new Merrill Road Freestanding Emergency Room, you will triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages presenting for emergency care. You will provide timely, compassionate care for patients with emergency and life‑threatening conditions within a variety of services including broken bone care, heart attack, and stroke treatment.

• Document nursing notes reflecting changes in condition, transfers, and discharges.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed.
• Coordinate efficient throughput and understand the care zones of the ED (triage, rapid treatment, care path, pediatric ER, trauma, behavioral health, etc.).
• Triage and coordinate incoming ambulance traffic.
• Manage patient care in collaboration with the primary ED attending.
• Apply and use the Emergency Severity Index 5‑level triage algorithm.
• Respond to critical needs and serve as a resource nurse for trauma.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage critical situations and make care‑based decisions.
• Educate patients and their families about medications, procedures, and treatments, providing support throughout the stay.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice and/or holding an active Compact/Multi‑State RN license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required and must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred and must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Previous emergency room RN experience required.

Full‑time, MID Shift (12 hours, approximately 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM); rotating holidays and weekends required.
