RN Oncology Head Neck

Overview

RN Oncology Head & Neck opportunity with HCA Florida Jacksonville Head & Neck, part of HCA Healthcare. Full-time, day shift (no nights, no on-call, no weekends, no holidays).

• Provide general nursing care to patients as necessary for office treatment.
• Perioperative screening for preoperative anesthesia clearance, cardiac clearance, and cessation of anticoagulation as indicated.
• Arrange for patient testing and admissions, coordinate outside scans and imaging modalities (e.g., Powershare, PACS).
• Assist with patient procedures, including consent forms, laryngoscopic procedures, biopsies, complex wound care, wound debridement, and blood draws.
• Assist with and manage DME supplies, home health orders, medical leave requests, insurance and authorization requests related to cancer care policies and end-of-life considerations.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary clinic and community referral networks for complex oncologic patients.
• Delegate and coordinate day-to-day patient-care tasks with clinic staff, front office, and medical assistants.
• Develop and provide patient and staff education on head and neck cancer inpatient and outpatient management to improve outcomes.

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of RN experience required; one to three years of oncology experience is preferred.
• Certification/License: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
