Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role based at UF Health in Jacksonville, FL. The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions in collaboration with physicians and the care team. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, documenting care accurately in the medical record, and educating patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care.
The nurse participates in care coordination, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary rounds to support safe, quality outcomes. The role also involves adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements, while contributing to continuous improvement and a culture of safety.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
Advanced Life Support (ACLS, PALS) preferred depending on unit. - Demonstrated clinical nursing skills in acute or specialty care settings, including patient assessment, care planning, and safe medication administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with physicians, allied health professionals, patients, and families in a diverse environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation, time management, and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives; experience with clinical protocols and hospital policies.
- Ability to work on-site in Jacksonville, FL, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support patient care.
- Associate's degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or progress toward BSN strongly preferred. - Relevant clinical experience in hospital or health system settings; specialty certifications (e.g., CCRN, CEN) are a plus.
