Registered Nurse (RN) ED Flex
The Registered Nurse (RN) ED Flex provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse at all Urgent Care and/or Emergency Departments at UF Health Jacksonville. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters.
Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.
Required Licensure/Certification s:
- Current licensure as RN in Florida or valid licensure in one of the states under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- If licensed under the eNLC, must obtain FL RN licensure within 90 days of becoming a Florida resident.
- BLS from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS from the American Heart Association.
- Effective July 1, 2018, PALS and NRP is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
- Existing employees are required to have the certifications by December 31, 2018.
- ED Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS, PALS and NRP within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
Preferred Licensure/Certification s:
- CEN or TNCC preferred
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience as RN in Emergency Room or ICU.
Preferred Experience:
5 or more years' experience of Emergency Room RN
Age of Patients ServedAll Age Groups.
