Chamberlain is comprised of the College of Nursing and the College of Health Professions. The College of Nursing offers a three‑year Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program and flexible post‑licensure programs, such as the RN to BSN option, Master of Science in Nursing degree program, Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program, and graduate certificates. The College of Health Professions also offers the Master in Public Health, Master of Social Work, and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree programs.

Pediatric

Nursing

You will mentor students in a clinical setting while they demonstrate nursing skills and procedures. This course focuses on family‑centered care of children, exploring normal child care as well as health alterations of children from infancy through adolescence. Students participate as members of the multidisciplinary health team to provide health promotion, illness prevention, health restoration, maintenance, and rehabilitative care to children and families.

Time: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

Duration: 8‑week session

Responsibilities
  • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and serve the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
  • Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
  • Be available to staff at the agencies.
  • Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on performance based on course objectives.
  • Be available for remediation of students as required.
  • Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students’ knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
  • Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator.
  • Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
