Sr. Quality Inspector - Aerospace

Kavaliro is seeking a Sr. Quality Inspector to perform a range of semi-complex inspection, calibration, and nondestructive testing activities in a manufacturing environment. This position works with limited supervision as part of a collaborative quality team and is responsible for evaluating components, tooling, instruments, and materials against established specifications and determining whether they meet required standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation, using precision measurement equipment, documenting inspection results, and working within established quality, safety, and customer requirements.

Pay: $44,080 - $54,080.00.

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined components, castings, forgings, tooling, and finished parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Determine whether parts and materials meet applicable drawings, specifications, tolerances, customer requirements, military standards, and internal quality procedures.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, travelers, route sheets, engineering specifications, charts, manuals, and other technical documentation.
• Use shop mathematics, including trigonometry, to calculate and verify dimensions, tolerances, hole locations, centerlines, and other critical features.
• Develop and adjust inspection setups for sample parts, castings, forgings, tooling, and fixtures.
• Perform first article, envelope, source, and surface plate inspections as required.
• Identify defective conditions, investigate inspection or test failures, and complete all required documentation and inspection records.
• Maintain accurate acceptance and rejection records, certifications, and inspection histories.
• Assist with investigations involving customer returns and quality-related failures.
• Conduct inspections within assembly, testing, and shipping operations and provide support to customer or government source inspectors when needed.

• Perform calibration activities on a variety of measuring and test equipment.
• Establish appropriate calibration conditions by interpreting procedures, specifications, manufacturing instructions, and related technical documentation.
• Evaluate historical calibration data and assist in establishing appropriate calibration intervals.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate newly acquired measurement and test equipment.
• Maintain accurate calibration records and equipment histories.

• Perform nondestructive testing activities in accordance with approved procedures, applicable specifications, industry standards, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct required daily, weekly, and monthly equipment and material checks.
• Prepare components for inspection, including required pre- and post-inspection cleaning.
• Set up and operate NDT equipment for semi-complex inspection applications.
• Evaluate, interpret, and document inspection results in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain inspection equipment and work areas in accordance with applicable safety and quality requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, FOD-free work environment.
• Perform other related quality, inspection, calibration, and testing duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in quality inspection, calibration, nondestructive testing, or a related manufacturing discipline, or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities outlined above.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• May be required to hold Level II Nondestructive Testing certification in two or more disciplines.
