Research Fellow – Department of Dermatology

A Research Fellow position is available in the Department of Dermatology in Jacksonville, Florida.

Previous Research

Experience:

Strongly preferred, particularly in manuscript writing.

Successful completion of USMLE Steps 1 and 2 is required.

Publications:
Previous publications in Pub Med-indexed medical journals are highly desirable, ideally as first or second author.

Research skills:
Demonstrates proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis relevant to the field.

Communication skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and effectively.

Team collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team, contributing to a productive and innovative research environment.

Problem‑solving:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to develop and test hypotheses and troubleshoot experimental issues.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer‑reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J‑1 Short‑Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended; $32.35 - $37.84 per hour.
