R&D Lab Systems Scientist

We are seeking top talent for the R&D Lab Systems Scientist role on our Vision team. This position may be based in Jacksonville, FL.

The R&D Lab Systems Scientist will support enhancements within our Lab Vantage Laboratory Information Management System (LV LIMS), partner with cross‑functional teams, and apply GxP knowledge to deliver innovative solutions.

• Accountable for troubleshooting, assist system users, support developers in verifying user requirements, execute user acceptance testing, and provide suggestions to improve user experience.
• Support multiple enhancement‑based projects and cross‑functional project teams.
• Support project plans to meet timelines and budgets.
• Develop an in‑depth understanding of contact lens manufacturing processes.
• Build positive relationships with other business functions across R&D.
• Ensure all activities follow GMP, ISO, and quality system requirements.
• Ensure that all health, safety and environmental requirements are fulfilled.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry) with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience, or a Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Knowledge and experience with LIMS development and enhancements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and be flexible to different work schedules as needed by the business.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on own initiative.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to present work clearly and with appropriate content for the given audience.
• Good interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with proven leadership abilities.

• Experience with in regulated medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with LIMS.
• Working experience with external suppliers.
• International collaboration experience.
