Mint Source is hiring a Senior B2B Research Writer. Most "research writer" applications we get are actually just people who read other people's reports and repackaged them. This role isn't that.
The agency runs original surveys for B2B tech companies, then turns the raw data into reports that make their clients the source people cite. You'd own projects end to end: shape the research strategy, read the crosstabs, find the number that contradicts what everyone assumes, then write the report and present it live to the client's stakeholders.
AI drafts the first pass. You're the one who decides what the story actually is and checks every number before it goes out. If you'd rather work from a blank page forever, this isn't for you.
It's remote, with at least four hours of daily overlap with US Mountain Time. Structure is flexible: freelance, part-time, or full-time, whatever fits you better.

About UsMint Source is a remote-first bridge that connects vibrant talent with international clients and agencies, enabling skilled individuals to showcase their expertise on a global stage.
Role OverviewMint Source is recruiting a Senior B2B Research Writer to join a boutique B2B research and content agency that helps technology companies become the source others cite. The agency runs original survey-based research for mid-market and enterprise B2B tech clients, turning raw survey data into industry reports, research briefs, and data-driven thought leadership. This is not a write-from-a-brief role: you will own research projects from strategy through final deliverable, interpreting quantitative findings, finding the story hidden in the data, and writing narrative-driven reports that position clients as market leaders.
You will work directly with the founder, alongside data analysts and a research operations team, with real input into how the research practice evolves as it grows. At first you will personally write most of the agency's research reports; as the practice scales, your role grows into editorial standards and mentoring. This seat is the heart of the agency's research practice: the reports you write are the product.
You'll Do
- Write narrative-driven research reports that transform survey data and crosstabs into compelling thought leadership for B2B technology audiences
- Develop the narrative before the writing: identify the central story in the data, separate signal from noise, and recommend the strongest defensible angle
- Own research projects end-to-end: join client kickoffs, help shape research strategy and survey instruments, interpret findings, write the report, and present it to stakeholders
- Lead client-facing sessions: facilitate strategy discussions, present findings, and confidently guide conversations with senior marketing and business leaders
- Collaborate with the agency's data analysts and research operations team throughout each project
- Direct AI-assisted drafting: use AI tools for first-pass organization and synthesis, then apply the judgment layer that turns output into strategic, original work. If you would rather always start from a blank page and never shape an AI-assisted draft, this will frustrate you
- Review research reports and briefs for analytical rigor, narrative strength, and clarity
- Contribute occasionally to content projects (blogs, case studies, thought leadership articles) when the content team needs support, with research staying your primary focus
- Help grow the research practice over time: set editorial standards and mentor freelance writers as the team expands
- 5+ years in content strategy, research, journalism, or analyst roles
- Hands-on experience with original survey research: you have written reports, white papers, or thought leadership from quantitative survey data, and you can read a crosstab and know what matters. Experience with secondary…
