Position Summary

San Jose Country Club is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Food Expo with a strong culinary background to serve as the critical link between the kitchen and front-of-house team. This role ensures that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet our standards for quality, accuracy, presentation, and timing. The ideal candidate has hands‑on kitchen experience and understands culinary techniques, plating standards, and service flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage ticket flow between kitchen stations and service staff
  • Inspect all dishes for accuracy, portioning, temperature, and presentation before leaving the kitchen
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with chefs, cooks, and front‑of‑house team members
  • Ensure proper pacing and timing of courses during à la carte and event service
  • Assist with plating and garnishing when necessary
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the expo line
  • Troubleshoot service issues quickly and professionally
  • Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications
  • Previous culinary experience required (line cook, sous chef, or similar role preferred)
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and cooking techniques
  • Knowledge of proper plating, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
