Job Title

Inventory Specialist

Job Purpose

Supports the store management team with inventory management, in-stock availability levels, merchandising standards, expense control and other operational processes to maintain company standards. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Service (40%):
    Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated, increasing confidence and loyalty. Performs daily and weekly store walks, audits and ensures reports are completed to confirm product in-stock conditions are at company standards.
  • Financial (30%):
    Completes daily and weekly administrative tasks (communications, online training, etc.). Assists in the planning and organizing of the inventory process. Ensures reclaim, transfers, discards, and date checks are handled to reduce shrink. Reviews and researches excessive back-stock to determine root cause and correct the data if needed.
  • Leadership (15%):
    Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job specific information. Adheres to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Compliance/Safety (15%):
    Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA & COOL, and DOA. Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and identifying unsafe conditions to report to store management.

    Notifies management of accidents. Reports safety risk, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations. Cultivates a culture of safety; ensures associates are trained and equipped, and that hazard assessments are posted. Ensures equipment is in good repair and assists with remediation of safety hazards.

Relevant Experience
:
Supervisory Experience – 3 - 6 years minimum;
No Experience Required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department
Environmental Factors

Retail - General:
Physical Demands include standing or walking, manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing. Lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. Exposure to various working conditions and safety hazards. Personal protective equipment provided as required.
