The Store Associate supports the current and future goals within our Stores by adhering to all procedures and programs outlined in the Operations Division of GATE. They will participate in the daily operations of the store, including food service as an entire entity. The Store Associate will actively learn, participate, train on all current and future programs, continually monitor progress, and ensure all employees uphold GATE standards.

• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
• Must stand for extended periods of time.
• Must lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
• Must bend, kneel, stoop, and reach (including overhead).
• Must work in varying and extreme temperatures.

• Must possess basic reading, writing, and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must operate a personal computer.
• Must understand and comply with company policies and procedures regarding robberies and the safe handling of petroleum products.

• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and adhere to GATE attendance policy.
• Arrive to work on time, consistently.
• Upon entering the property, appear in proper attire, crisp, clean, and in good repair following GATE standards for uniform and appearance.
• Maintain a clean and professional haircut; management has final approval.
• Attend required training, safety courses, office and departmental meetings.
• Report safety hazards, ensure hazards are corrected, and assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
• Adhere to and enforce federal, state, local law and company policy.
• Use organizational skills to keep the store clean and well-stocked for customers.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance of store equipment.
• Operate all equipment assigned each day.
• Handle all payments according to GATE policies.
• Prioritize customer satisfaction to keep customers returning to GATE stores.
• Greet customers and assist with questions about products or services offered.
• Provide positive interaction, address inquiries, and resolve complaints.
• Ensure a friendly and efficient checkout experience for customers.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
• Communicate accurately and positively with customers and staff.
• Apply problem‑solving and de‑escalation skills.
• Operate equipment including cash register, money order machine, electronic lottery, Tach II safes, credit card machines, gasoline console, and emergency gasoline shutoff valve.
• Perform store merchandising: stocking shelves, pricing, blocking and fronting shelves, placing window banners, and ensuring in‑store P.O.S. compliance.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by the Store Manager.
