- Customer Service
:
Proactively engage and connect with customers; ask questions and listen to their needs; direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card. - Organization
:
Maintain the checkout area appearance; move and restock bags, packaging materials, and labels. - Sales
:
Interact with customers to ensure they find everything needed; suggest latest trends and promotions based on individual needs; use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit/debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts; maintain change funds and account for sales receipts; complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation. - Inventory
:
Keep merchandise, complete inventory processes, ensure merchandise is properly checked in and ticketed; participate in periodic inventories. - Dependability
:
Adhere to the assigned work schedule; complete work assignments accurately and entirely. - Other duties as assigned.
- Product knowledge.
- Knowledge of Point‑of‑Sale systems.
- Retail or relevant work experience preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents; communicate with customers, peers, and management; handle telephone calls with proper etiquette.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); use of calculator; able to make change in U.S. monetary units; calculate percentages.
- Ability to multitask, remain flexible to business needs, work as part of a team, and take initiative independently.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- No experience required.
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The role requires lifting between 25 and 50 pounds and may involve indoor or outdoor work depending on location.
Work HoursAvailable to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
