Job Overview
Specialty Account Manager, IgG4-RD – responsible for representing Amgen products to physicians and healthcare professionals within the specified regions. Will establish product sales, perform total territory account management, provide disease information and education to medical professionals, and manage relationships with KOLs.
Responsibilities- Consistently achieve assigned sales objectives through promotion of patient‑centered disease and product education to HCPs.
- Implement goals of the marketing plan through execution of strategic account business plan.
- Work effectively in a matrix environment with case managers, medical affairs, patient access team, and other parties.
- Utilize available resources and programs including peer‑to‑peer education and cross‑functional partners within the company to address identified knowledge gaps.
- Navigate and identify opportunities in the healthcare landscape including academic institutions, IDNs, accountable care organizations, private practices, and community hospital systems.
- Establish productive business relationships with key local, regional, and national KOLs.
- Develop and maintain high‑level disease and therapeutic clinical and scientific knowledge.
- Utilize a consultative selling approach that enables specialists to meet the needs of HCPs treating IgG4‑RD patients.
- Execute all duties with a strong understanding and adherence to compliance and corporate policies, including documentation and reporting.
- Account Manager – Level 4:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience in pharma/biotech/medical device or hospital sales.
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience in pharma/biotech/medical device or hospital sales.
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience in pharma/biotech/medical device or hospital sales.
- Specialty Account Manager – Level 5:
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.
- Master’s degree and 6 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.
- Associate degree and 10 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.
- 7+ years of experience in biotech, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare disease sales.
- 3+ years of rare disease/orphan drug experience; ultra‑orphan preferred; rare disease launch experience strongly preferred.
- Immunology / Rheumatology experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of in‑office injection/infusion sales of a product requiring extensive coordination with patient access services.
- Experience operating in a matrix selling environment collaborating with patient services, market access, medical affairs, and reimbursement with patient‑centric focus.
- Market development / deep profiling in rare, unmet areas experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success educating HCPs about complex diseases diagnosed through clinical observation involving diverse patient profiles.
- Documented track record of delivering consistent, exceptional performance.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Professional, proactive demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Requires approximately 20–30% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is:
Account Manager – Level 4: $145,311 – $196,597.
Specialty Account Manager – Level 5: $158,931 – $215,025.
