We are looking for a full-time Business and Sales Coordinator to join our Edmonton office.
Our ideal candidate is a team player, passionate about achieving goals. This position is predominantly focused on sales coordination and business development. You will also work closely with our agronomy staff, project teams, and marketing personnel. The role is comprised of 60% sales coordination and business development work and 40% administrative tasks. This is an ideal role if you enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and want to further develop your sales, interpersonal or business skillset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating sales activities with our sales agronomists and contacting existing and potential corporate clients and business leads regularly and structurally (no cold calls).
- Identifying client needs and suggesting appropriate products/services in an organized manner through our agronomy team members.
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships and commercial agreements with distributors and ag retailers.
- Building long‑term trusting relationships with clients and actively participating in trade events.
- Setting up meetings or calls between prospective leads and the company when a business initiates.
- Reporting weekly, monthly and quarterly sales results and data.
- Staying up to date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans.
- Maintaining various databases to ensure information is accurate and current.
Requirements:
- 2‑4 years of direct coordination experience in sales and business development with knowledge of fertilizer products and market.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or communications.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Academic background in agronomy and/or business with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and market share growth.
- Experience negotiating sales terms and agreements.
- Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills for team management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with external parties.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills for efficient internal and external communications.
- Organized, detail‑oriented and timely in completing administrative protocols, sales reports and data collection.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for the agriculture industry and innovative solutions to agronomic issues.
- Ability to maintain databases, filing systems and working knowledge of CRM platforms.
- Excellent team player capable of working collaboratively with others.
- Assertive, cooperative and effective communicator; client‑facing role.
- Professional appearance and friendly disposition.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to travel to various farms/towns to meet customers and hold a valid class 5 driving license.
