PLS Logistics Services is seeking a motivated, results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Jacksonville office. This role is focused on generating new business opportunities by identifying prospective customers, conducting outbound outreach, qualifying leads, and scheduling meetings for our International Sales team. Key Responsibilities- Prospect and identify potential customers through cold calling, email campaigns, Linked In, and other outbound sales strategies.
- Generate qualified sales opportunities and set appointments for the International Sales team.
- Conduct research to identify companies with international freight and supply chain needs.
- Qualify prospects by understanding their transportation, import/export, and logistics challenges.
- Schedule discovery meetings and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Accurately track all prospecting activity, appointments, and lead status in the CRM.
- Partner closely with International Sales Executives to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and appointment-setting goals.
- Stay informed on market trends, international logistics solutions, and PLS service offerings.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent sales experience.
- Previous experience in business development, sales, recruiting, customer service, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and handling objections.
- Highly organized, competitive, and self-motivated.
- Experience using CRM platforms and sales tools is preferred.
- Interest in logistics, transportation, or supply chain is a plus.
- A hunter mentality with a passion for creating new business opportunities.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent time management and follow-up skills.
- A desire to grow into a long-term sales career within the logistics industry.
This position is based out of our Jacksonville, FL office and plays a key role in supporting the growth of PLS's International Sales team by creating qualified opportunities and setting appointments with prospective customers.
