What work will you perform?As a Sales Support Specialist, you'll work alongside experienced sales leaders to identify new business opportunities, qualify leads, and provide the research and insights that help our field sales team succeed. Your work is essential to driving business growth by ensuring sales representatives can focus on building relationships and closing new business. This entry-level position offers hands‑on experience across sales, business development, and agent recruiting, with a potential career path to Area Sales Manager.
Candidates should be excited to travel and be open to relocation (post probationary period).
- Collaborate with the Field Team, including Area Sales Managers, Region Vice Presidents, and Corporate Sales Executives, to support their sales efforts.
- Collaborate with Agent Development Executives to assist with agent development strategies and contribute to region‑specific growth plans.
- Data Mining:
Generate and qualify new customer leads, including but not limited to dormant accounts, unsolicited quote requests, commodity/industry specific leads, mode specific leads, geographical opportunity and Lane Balance analysis. - Prepare and qualify sales opportunities by resolving conflicts and credit issues, compiling comprehensive company and customer information, and providing Field Representatives with the data and context needed to successfully close new business.
- Facilitate soft introductions between Field Representatives and prospective customers by ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements, enabling a seamless transition and effective follow‑up.
- Log opportunities and send follow‑up tasks to Field Staff in Sales Force to ensure successful tracking and completion of the sales process.
- Frequent travel; coordinating through the Company's travel and expense system in compliance with Company travel and reimbursement policies.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or Logistics.
- 6 months' experience in transportation/logistics industry.
- Sales led generation and qualification.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar).
- Research and data mining.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
