Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Technician
Job Location: Jacksonville, FL
Salary: 28-33/hr for experience / 22/hr for Entry Level
Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Technician to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. The primary focus is on ensuring optimal functionality while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, zero harm, and adherence to established policies and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections and tests on machinery and equipment.
- Listen for abnormal sounds to detect malfunctions and collaborate with supervisors and maintenance team to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Disassemble defective machines, replace parts, and install new or repaired components.
- Clean and lubricate machinery parts, including shafts, bearings, and gears.
- Perform installation and repair of electrical apparatus, wiring, and electronic components.
- Assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, and replace gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
- Install, program, and repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to fabricate or repair machine parts.
- Utilize cutting torches and welding equipment to join metal parts.
- Understand technical and safety literature, as well as plant policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot production processes and machinery operations effectively.
- Record and manage work orders using Maximo system.
- High school diploma with 1 to 3 years of apprenticeship/applied trades training.
- Proficiency in shop mathematics and interpretation of complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and precision measuring instruments.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and MSDS.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions within established methods and procedures.
- Strong initiative and ability to take ownership of tasks.
