Job Summary

MSI-CAC seeks a Sheet Metal Apprentice to be responsible for all aspects of HVAC‑Sheet Metal functions, including the installation, renovation, repair, and service of HVAC‑sheet metal systems on a commercial job site. The role requires coordination with other trades, adherence to safety rules and policies, and support of a team‑oriented work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs various field and shop tasks associated with the HVAC sheet metal trade.
  • Installs, renovates, and repairs commercial/industrial HVAC air distribution systems under the direction of a Sheet Metal Mechanic or Foreman.
  • Coordinates with other trades in efficient and timely job completion.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Ensures safe work practices and adheres to safety rules/policies.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in construction or a physically demanding job.
  • Ability to work at heights without fear.
  • Ability to travel to and from job sites as required.
  • Positive interaction with colleagues, clients, and the public.
  • Basic math and geometry skills.
  • Skilled in the use and care of hand tools.
  • Proficient in reading tape measure and following specific directions.
  • Capability to evaluate information using measurable standards.
  • Physical capability to stand, balance, climb stairs and ladders, walk, lift weights of 50 lbs. or more, and use upper and lower extremities for reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting.
