Responsibilities
- Wire, commission, and debug automated control systems
- Build automation control panels per design
- Work with external vendors to build and install panels
- Redline electrical and pneumatic schematics for automated systems
- Take utmost ownership of install work and timelines, providing regular updates and communicating blockers or risks rapidly
- Promote 5s principles of organizing and sustaining efficient and presentable team work spaces
- Completion of secondary education (High School Diploma or GED) required.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience installing, troubleshooting or maintaining equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs.
- Ability to read, interpret and modify electrical drawings and schematics to ensure systems are built and maintained correctly.
- Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment. Work can be in industrial settings, on manufacturing floors, or in control rooms. It may involve exposure to noise, fumes, or varying temperatures and heights.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and with humility to stakeholders.
- A strong aptitude for safety culture.
- A.S. degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Technology or other relevant Automation/Controls field.
- Familiar with various control systems standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06
- NFPA 70E and OSHA 10-hour certifications
- Excellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation experience
- Strong problem‑solving skills, the ability to read technical drawings, and hands‑on experience with PLCs, industrial networks, and various control systems.
- Experience with electrical verification of machines
- Diagnose and repair issues with control systems, equipment, and hardware to minimize downtime. Respond to emergency call‑ins for urgent repairs.
- Experience installing, modifying, and maintaining hardware such as electrical conduit, sensors, wiring, and control panels. Install and maintain motor control systems and other related equipment.
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing up and down stairs and/or ladders regularly throughout the day.
- Ability to lift lightweight supplies or materials (up to 25 lbs unassisted).
- Available to work overtime and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required.
- Occasional travel to other Blue Origin or 3rd party facilities, up to 25%.
