What You’ll DoAs an HVAC Journeyman Mechanic, you’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality service and solutions to our commercial customers. You’ll work on a variety of systems, from rooftop units to chillers, and help optimize facility performance.
- Diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, compressors, pumps, fans, etc.)
- Performing maintenance and replacements on mechanical systems
- Troubleshooting advanced systems including centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon components
- Conducting mechanical shaft alignment and vibration analysis
- Installing complete HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure
- Providing expert recommendations and quotes for system upgrades and repairs
- Collaborating with apprentices and other mechanics to share knowledge and ensure top-tier service
- Traveling 10-20% to support customer needs across the region
- Prioritizing safety in every task
We’re seeking skilled professionals with a strong mechanical background and a commitment to excellence.
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience
- Universal EPA refrigerant certification
- Valid current driver’s license
- Proficiency in mechanical alignment and vibration diagnostics
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and document service actions
- Willingness to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices (UA)
- Self-motivated, safety-focused, and eager to learn
- Ability to pass a technical proficiency exam

Competitive union wages and benefits. This is a Bargaining Unit Position. Hiring Compensation Range: $ per hour, determined by the Local UA. This position includes a competitive benefits package. With successful performance, JCI may recommend you to the Union Local apprenticeship program, as well as continued employment eptance by Union Local must occur within 365 days of employment or will result in termination of this position.
