Diesel Technician Mobile

Torque by Ryder is immediately hiring a permanent full‑time experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Jacksonville, FL.

• Hourly Pay: $38.00 per hour based on experience
• Retention Bonus: $2,000 paid every quarter within the first year.

• Mobile technicians will have a company service vehicle.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Knowledge and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced repairs.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or Class E preferred.
• Ability to take home assigned mobile service truck and secure it.
• Must have tools required per Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02.
• Proficient in understanding and following company policies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer‑service orientation.
• Team‑player with ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Experience with preventive maintenance (PM230 & PM298) within 90 days, various brake and wheel checks, etc.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check.
• Additional screening may be required (education verification, motor‑vehicle record check, badging or background per customer).

• Diagnose and repair vehicles with minimal support.
• Perform standard maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs.
• Use diagnostic computers/software.
• Provide remote triage with RCRC and customers.
• Assist with facility maintenance.
• Interact with customers and drivers to determine complaints.
• Train and advise other technicians on repair procedures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as A/C & heater checks, brake‑air system checks, hydraulic brakes, cargo handling/liftgate, electrical systems, clutch, cooling, cranking, lighting, drive axles, driveline, engine, fuel system, tires, wheels, etc.
• Ensure proper maintenance records per federal, state, local regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
