Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of basic professional experience involving electrical, plumbing, heating, air‑conditioning systems, or structural and architectural systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, grasp, push, and pull.
  • Capability to climb a ladder and use a hi‑lift to 60 feet.
  • Manual dexterity in hands and fingers.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or more.
Duties and Responsibilities

Electrical System Maintenance

  • Perform maintenance and repair on all building electrical systems, indoor/outdoor lighting, 120‑ and 480‑volt receptacles, distribution panels and secondary feeders.
  • Maintain, install, inspect and test grounding systems for buildings, aircraft parking ramps, and equipment.
  • Inspect base lightning protection and fire protection alarm systems.
  • Maintain, install and repair sinks, showers, sanitary plumbing fixtures, base fire protection systems.
  • Maintain, install and repair sanitary sewer systems, lift stations, potable water distribution systems.
  • Assist in maintenance, installation and repair of irrigation systems.
  • Maintain, install and repair heat pumps, air conditioning, chiller, thermostat control systems.
  • Maintain, install and repair electrical, boiler and propane heating systems.
  • Fabricate, install and repair HVAC duct systems and damper controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair the base (METASYS) environmental control system.
  • Maintain, install and repair rooftop ventilation systems and associated hardware.
  • Maintain, install and repair roll‑up door systems, personnel entry doors, folding wall partitions, lock systems, hangar door systems, building ladder systems, hoists, roofing systems (standing seam metal and modified bitumen), gutters, downspouts, awnings and window systems.
  • Maintain, install and repair structural steel buildings, stucco, brick, block masonry systems and concrete tilt‑up panel systems and structural coatings.
  • Maintain, install and repair perimeter fencing systems, manual and motorized gate systems.

Shop Equipment and Tools

  • Ensure proper use, maintenance and repair of shop equipment and portable power tools, including table saws, drill presses, band saws, belt sanders, pipe threading machines, grinders, Freon recovery systems and other assigned tools.
  • Account for all assigned tools at all times.
  • Follow all applicable safety requirements and procedures 100% of the time.

Records and Other Duties

  • Maintain maintenance work orders and equipment records.
  • Assist janitorial staff, groundskeepers and maintenance mechanics with duties such as cutting grass, clearing ditch lines and collecting trash and debris around the base.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for maintenance and repair work.
  • Knowledge with small engines and motor repairs.
  • Skill in using tools and equipment for maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to install, maintain and repair electric motors, generators and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to conduct air conditioning and heating repairs.
  • General electrical knowledge for wiring, replacing ballast, and installing new circuits.
  • Ability to work independently and well with team members and supervisor.
  • Judgment ability in field maintenance repairs.
