Overview
The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining elevators in commercial and residential buildings. Responsibilities include inspecting elevator systems, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring all work complies with safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all installation work is completed per job requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures during installation.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Provide excellent customer service while on-site.
- Conduct field service visits to ensure elevator functionality.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep elevators in optimal condition.
- Maintain a neat and clean jobsite.
- Work with inspectors to ensure compliance with all required inspections.

- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Experience & Training
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience installing residential elevators, wheelchair lifts, and LULA elevators.
- Knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1.
- Ability to read and understand installation blueprints and drawings, including all electrical and electronic schematics.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
- Certified Elevator Mechanic License.
Computer Skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Physical Demands
- The employee must be able to lift heavy loads.
Work Environment
- This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
Travel
- Some overnight travel required; must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Company vehicle provided.
