Fiber/Structured Cable Tech

We are seeking a Structured Cable/Fiber Technician for project-based work in the Jacksonville area. The ideal candidate will be an independent worker capable of hitting the ground running on various commercial projects, including schools, hospitals, and banks. This role focuses on the installation and maintenance of low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, fiber optics, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test CAT 5/6 structured cabling and fiber optic cables.
• Perform low-voltage wiring, including pulling cable and making terminations.
• Work on various commercial job sites, including schools and hospitals, often coordinating with General Contractors.
• Handle camera system installations and other security-related tasks, such as CCTV and access control.
• Work independently to complete assigned jobs, which may include ground-up projects and numerous smaller camera jobs.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of three years of professional experience in commercial low-voltage and structured cabling is required. Proficiency with CAT 5/6 cabling, pulling wire, terminations, and fiber optics. A solid understanding of the field, including data wiring, CCTV, and access control systems, is necessary. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation. The ability to pass a background check and a drug test, which may be project-specific, is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CCTV and Access Control systems.
