Fire Sprinkler Service Tech
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to install, inspect, test, and repair water-based fire suppression systems for commercial and industrial projects. This role involves working in a team to handle new installations, retrofits, and tenant improvements. This position requires strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively with various on-site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
- Install new, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects, including wet, dry, and deluge systems.
- Cut, thread, and groove steel piping to specifications using trade tools.
- Collaborate with on-site contractors to resolve coordination conflicts.
- Assist with job scheduling and progress tracking to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Modify designs as needed in accordance with code compliance.
- Provide support and guidance to other field installers and helpers.
- Comply with industry standard procedures and safety programs.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have one to two years of fire sprinkler service experience or a minimum of four to five years of pipe fitting experience in a commercial or industrial setting. Experience with steel piping is required.
Skills
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and a willingness to work overtime. The role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working from heights, and climbing ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certifications.
- Experience with installation of underground piping.
- Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps.
- Intermediate understanding of NFPA 13 code requirements.
- Certification in backflow inspection and repair.
