The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical systems within a high‑speed manufacturing and production environment.

This role is ideal for a licensed electrician who takes pride in craftsmanship, values safety, and seeks long‑term stability in a professional industrial setting.

Note:

This position requires an active Journeyman Electrician license or Journeyman card (Florida or reciprocal state). Candidates without proper certification will not be considered.

Job Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Work with high‑voltage systems (up to 480V), including power distribution, switch gear, transformers, and motor controls.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Bend and install conduit, pull wire, and install electrical fixtures, panels, and controls.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve electrical faults and minimize downtime.
  • Test electrical components for voltage, current, continuity, and resistance using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Utilize CMMS/work order systems (e.g., Maximo) to document maintenance activities and track work orders.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, and production teams on equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with third‑party vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to site‑specific safety policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Operate lifts, forklifts, and work safely at heights when required.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to apprentice electricians or junior team members as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Active Journeyman Electrician license or Journeyman card (Florida or reciprocal state required).
  • Minimum 7+ years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience (manufacturing experience strongly preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    technical or trade school certification preferred
    .
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team‑oriented environment
    .
  • Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills
    .
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
    .
  • Experience working with industrial equipment, automation systems, or production lines is a plus.
