Aircraft Mechanics at Flightstar Aircraft Services perform day-to-day heavy maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks on commercial aircraft, including Airbus and Boeing fleets. In this full-time, on-site role located in Jacksonville, FL, team members inspect aircraft structures, powerplant components, and systems to identify discrepancies, perform corrective actions, and ensure all work meets FAA and company standards. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and structural issues, completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, documenting work in accordance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with inspectors, engineers, and other technicians.

Aircraft Mechanics also maintain a safe and organized work environment, follow all safety and quality procedures, and support continuous improvement in maintenance practices and efficiency.

• Strong skills in Aircraft Structures and structural repair techniques; ability to read and interpret structural repair manuals and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with Power Plant systems, including inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of aircraft engines and related components.
• Solid understanding of Aircraft Systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, environmental, and flight controls) and experience diagnosing and resolving system issues.
• Hands‑on experience in Aircraft Maintenance, including both heavy checks and line maintenance, with a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated capability working with commercial Aircraft, preferably Airbus and Boeing types, and familiarity with manufacturer documentation and maintenance programs.
• Relevant aviation maintenance certification or training; FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license strongly preferred.
• Ability to use standard and specialized aircraft maintenance tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments safely and correctly.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed to support operational requirements.
