Low Voltage Technician
This role supports low voltage installations across various commercial jobsites, focusing on pulling wire, bending conduit, assisting with device installation, and learning the low voltage trade, including CCTV and fire alarm systems. You will work closely with an experienced lead technician, receive on-the-job training, and contribute to projects in environments such as schools, hospitals, and federal properties.
Responsibilities- Pull low voltage wire and assist with wire runs above ceilings.
- Perform basic conduit work, including running and bending electrical conduit as needed.
- Assist with drilling and mounting devices on various equipment and surfaces.
- Read and work from blueprints to support installations and wiring layouts.
- Support field service activities such as basic troubleshooting and wiring assistance under guidance.
- Assist with electrical maintenance tasks as directed by the lead.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on commercial construction sites.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and at high elevations using ladders.
- Lift, carry, stand, and walk for extended periods while handling heavy objects.
- Follow safety requirements and site rules when working in schools, hospitals, and federal properties.
- Be available to work overtime and some weekends when project needs require it.
- Ability to pull wire and assist with low voltage wiring tasks.
- Basic experience or aptitude in running and bending electrical conduit.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints at a basic level.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with the public and site personnel.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various jobsites.
- Willingness and availability to work overtime and some weekends.
- Consistent punctuality and strong attendance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience assisting electricians with wiring, conduit, and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to electrical troubleshooting or electrical maintenance tasks.
- Education or training from technical programs such as technical institutes, technical high schools, technical colleges, or on-site apprenticeships.
- Demonstrated ability to stay focused and follow instructions from a lead technician.
- High level of motivation and willingness to learn new skills.
- Sense of urgency and productivity when working on tasks.
- Ability to be trusted to work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to safety when working with tools, ladders, and electrical systems.

WorkEnvironment
This position is based on commercial construction sites across various jobsites, primarily within the Jacksonville area. You will work Monday through Friday with a typical minimum schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the potential for overtime and some weekend work depending on project needs. The work takes place both indoors and outdoors, including in all weather conditions, and often involves working above ceilings and at heights using ladders.
You will regularly use hand tools and power tools, handle materials, and navigate active construction environments. Proper work attire includes jeans, a shirt (excluding white T-shirts), work boots, a hard hat, and a safety vest, in line with standard commercial construction safety practices. Many projects are in sensitive environments such as schools, hospitals, and federal properties, where adherence to safety, security, and professional conduct standards is essential.
