Position Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the installation of alarm systems, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to required standards.
  • Oversee the layout, and installation of fire alarm system panels, wiring, and related equipment. This includes applying knowledge of fire alarm system operations and interpreting blueprints and installation instructions.
  • Completion of work orders, which may include pulling wire overhead, carrying materials, ladders, and other items (up to 50 lbs.), including up and down stairs.
  • Perform maintenance and replacement work on system components, such as alarm devices, panels, power supplies, flow switches, tamper switches, etc.
  • Proactively notify management of any issues, concerns, or changes on the job site.
  • Address employee performance or behavior issues in collaboration with management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors to ensure project goals are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Accurately complete and submit all necessary reports, including time sheets, accident reports, and production documentation, on time.
  • Ensure compliance with all work and safety rules and enforce proper safety protocols on the job site.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance, and safekeeping of assigned tools and equipment. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area, including the company vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the commercial superintendent/manager.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of knowledge and hands‑on experience in installing fire alarm systems, reading blueprints, and conducting system testing.
  • Preferred but not required; completion of NICET certification, OSHA 30‑hour course, and lift certification.
  • Proficient in using computer software, including company‑specific programs.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience supervising apprentices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage with others professionally and collaboratively.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to wear required protective equipment and adhere to safety guidelines on job sites.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record (a company vehicle will be provided).
  • Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test, background check, and 10‑year employment verification is required.
