Diesel Technician – Jacksonville, FL
Vaco is hiring for a direct hire opportunity.
Shift: Monday – Friday 2PM-10PM
Purpose of role:Company truck and trailer maintenance and preventative maintenance.
Overview:Complete knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and diagnostic tools. All major engine manufacturer component overhaul and repair; electrical and electronic systems diagnostics and diagnostic tools; brakes and braking systems; transmissions and driveline; hydraulics and power lift systems; ability to diagnose and repair all classes of heavy‑duty trucks/trailers bumper to bumper without supervision.
Required Skills/Certifications:
- Required technician tool set.
- Class A or C CDL license required.
- Nice to have: all 7 ASE Master Technician certifications (T-2 through T-8).
Certifications:
- T1 – Gasoline Engines
- T2 – Diesel Engines
- T3 – Drive Train
- T4 – Brakes
- T5 – Suspension & Steering
- T6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems
- T7 – Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- T8 – Preventive Maintenance Inspection
- Heavy lifting required (minimum 45 lbs).
- Strong communication.
- Reliability.
- ASE & other certifications are great.
Compensation and benefits:
