GSE Mechanic

JOB SUMMARY:

The Equipment Mechanic diagnoses and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and associated components in support of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) operations.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of five (5) years related experience in equipment repair and maintenance of similar DOD equipment.

U.S. Citizenship;

Possesses a valid U.S. issued driver’s license.

Must be eligible for, or have successfully completed a National Agency Check investigation within the last ten (10) years.

Good working knowledge of the USAF supply systems, programs, policies and manuals, in addition to proper methods of inventory control and the associated terminology and other accepted or required standard operating procedures (SOPs).Good written and oral communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform repair and maintenance associated with AGE equipment.

Advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair maintenance problems

Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions.

Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and documents maintenance actions.

Performs visual, auditory, and dimensional checks on system components.

Inspect equipment for wear and tear to determine if part should be repaired or replaced.

Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment.

Ensures equipment is accounted for in the accordance with the SOPs and/or contract requirements and that the work is synchronized in accordance with the proper method(s), and/or requirements.

Utilize safety practices and procedures in accordance with established regulations.

Follow federal and state rules when storing, using, handling, labeling and disposing of hazardous materials.
