The florida department of children and families (dcf) is the state of florida's social services agency. The agency oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, human trafficking and public assistance. The agency's mission is to work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency.

Within dcf, the substance abuse and mental health (samh) program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The office of samh is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders.

This is not a telework position. Candidate will be required to work in the tallahassee, bonifay, ft. Lauderdale, or jacksonville regional program office.

This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as the state opioid response youth services coordinator ops within the programs unit. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. This role requires the use of independent judgment, a proactive approach to responsibilities, and exceptional attention to detail.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

* provide ongoing technical assistance (ta) to program sites to ensure evidence-based practices are implemented with fidelity.

* support staff in identifying opportunities for youth-led decision-making in areas not governed by evidence-based models.

* offer guidance on integrating youth voice into all aspects of program design, delivery, and evaluation.

* develop and deliver training sessions for program staff on key frameworks including system of care and wraparound services.

* coordinate external training opportunities and collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance staff competencies.

* create tools and resources that promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and youth-centered practices.

* assist program sites in establishing structures that elevate youth voice, such as advisory boards, peer leadership roles, and participatory planning processes.

* ensure youth are actively involved in shaping their recovery plans and program activities.

* promote a culture of respect, autonomy, and collaboration between youth and service providers.

* monitor program activities to ensure alignment with evidence-based models and youth-driven approaches.

* support data collection and reporting efforts related to program fidelity, youth outcomes, and service effectiveness.

* identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance program impact.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position:

* knowledge and strong understanding of youth development, recovery-oriented care, and evidence-based practices.

* knowledge of power point and the ability to develop training materials.

* knowledge of commonly used software, such as word and excel

* knowledge of administrative principles and practices.

* knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

* knowledge of the methods of data collection.

* ability to delivering training and technical assistance to multidisciplinary teams.

* ability to evaluate and analyze data relating to the preparation of contracts and grants.
