TITLE: Community Development Troop Facilitator
- Part Time

Reports to: Manager of Community Development Programs

Classification/FLSA Status: Part Time Time, NON EXEMPT

LOCATION: Hybrid

PAY RANGE:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this role is to develop and facilitate our Girl Scout Community Development Programs within assigned communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit girls at each location to join Girl Scouts and meet monthly recruitment goals as outlined.
  • Plan, prepare and conduct weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly program sessions for Girl Scout members based on the program and Girl Scout badge curriculum.
  • Prepare reports and evaluations as required; maintain accurate records of participation and individual activities; deliver pre- and post-surveys to all participants, parents and partners.
  • Attend training, events, and meetings as necessary for successful program leadership.
  • Foster and preserve positive relationships with girls, school administrators, parents or custodial adults of the girls, mentors, and other partner organizations
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred. (Education; Social Work; Family, Youth and Community Sciences; Public Health; or similar degrees)
  • Prior Girl Scout experience preferred.
  • Experience working with at-risk communities preferred.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong commitment to helping and mentoring youth learn about the Pillars of Girl Scouts (STEM, Entrepreneurship, Outdoors and Life Skills)
  • Effectively manage the necessary record-keeping responsibilities to provide specific, accurate outcomes to our funders.
  • Flexibility to devote the necessary time to the job.
  • Ability to get along with people from all backgrounds.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and take initiative.
  • This job may require weekday, weekend and/or evening involvement. Local travel is required.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, valid auto insurance and insurable by the Council’s auto policy insurance carrier and reliable transportation.

  • Understands and internalizes the Girl Scout Mission and Values.
  • Is a registered member of Girl Scouts of the USA or willingness to become a member.
  • Ensures adherence to council and GS USA policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Actively supports and promotes the council’s and GSUSA’s affirmative action plans and their commitment to diversity, inclusion, and pluralism.
  • Performs the essential duties and responsibilities of her/his staff position at a consistently high level.
  • Understands and complies with mandatory reporting requirements /statutes relating to child abuse.
  • Consistently seeks to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of council operations by demonstrating positive and creative approaches to assigned work.
  • Provides consistent and exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Actively supports and promotes all efforts to increase cooperation, pro‑active communication, and collaboration between and among staff members, volunteers and girls.
  • Always demonstrates and promotes a climate of courtesy and professionalism.
  • Understands and internalizes the importance of seeking resolution to problems and concerns by bringing them to the direct attention of her/his supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Supports and assists in achieving membership goals and girl leadership/program standards.
  • Supports council strategies to generate public financial support and participates in the staff annual giving campaign.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates sound time management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.
