We are seeking an experienced Hadoop Developer to design, develop, and support large-scale data processing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, Python, and SQL
, and will work on moderately complex development projects involving enterprise data platforms.

• Design, develop, and enhance applications that store and process large volumes of data

• Write and maintain code for moderately complex system designs across platforms

• Develop new programs and enhance existing applications

• Review code written by other developers and provide feedback

• Create detailed technical and system specifications, identifying integration points

• Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning

• Support application transitions throughout the Product Development Lifecycle

• Identify gaps in functional and system requirements and communicate impacts

• Collaborate with IT Developers, Business Analysts, System Analysts, Project Managers, and vendors

• Estimate scope, time, and resources required for development activities

• Research vendor tools and perform product gap analysis

• Ensure IT controls are implemented to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability

• Follow corporate standards, coding practices, and documentation guidelines

• 3+ years of professional experience in software development within the IT industry

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Hadoop

  • Apache Spark

  • Python

  • SQL / Stored Procedures

• Experience with unit testing, release management, and change management processes

• Proficiency with version control tools

• Solid understanding of system design and software development life cycle (SDLC)

• Experience programming in more than one object-oriented language

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Flexible team player with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with debugging and performance tuning tools

• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and flowcharting tools (Visio)

• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
