Senior AI​/ML Engineer - Engineering Excellence; Full Stack Developer Vice President

Overview of the Role

Citi, a global financial institution, seeks a Senior AI/ML & Agentic AI Engineer to design, develop, and integrate AI solutions that enhance engineering processes across the enterprise.

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated AI/ML, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions, including advanced AI assistant tools.
• Architect and develop end-to-end AI systems utilizing Python for ML workflows and Java for scalable backend services.
• Design and implement intelligent agentic systems with autonomous decision‑making capabilities.
• Develop, fine‑tune, and optimize LLMs using parameter‑efficient techniques and full fine‑tuning for production deployment.
• Drive experimentation with generative AI methods such as prompt engineering and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Own the deployment pipeline for AI models using CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) on cloud platforms.
• Apply deep knowledge of SQL and No

• Contribute to engineering best practices, architectural patterns, and tooling standards for full‑stack AI development.

• Ensure strict adherence to ethical AI guidelines, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior engineers across Python, Java, cloud technologies, and CI/CD best practices.

• Polyglot Programming Expertise
  • Python – advanced proficiency in data manipulation (Pandas), scientific computing (Num Py), and ML frameworks.
  • Java – strong proficiency in Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful APIs, and enterprise application development.
• AI/ML & Agentic AI
  • Extensive experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI principles, and AI assistant tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with LLM fine‑tuning (LoRA, QLoRA, Adapter/Prefix Tuning, instruction tuning).
  • Knowledge of model optimization (compression, quantization) and tools such as Deep Speed, vLLM, GPTQ.
  • Proficient in prompt engineering and building robust RAG systems.
  • Experience with PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Keras and distributed training.
  • Strong NLP skills (NER, dependency parsing, text classification, topic modeling).
  • Familiarity with Lang Chain, Llama Index, Hugging Face, and major GenAI APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, AWS Bedrock).

• Demonstrated portfolio of successful, impactful projects using Python, Java, cloud services, and CI/CD/Dev Ops practices in an enterprise setting.
• Experience architecting large‑scale distributed systems for high availability and performance.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
