At Galoy, we build Bitcoin-native core banking software for regulated financial institutions. Our platform enables banks and financial organizations to offer Bitcoin-backed lending, payments, stable coins, and exchange either as a primary core system or integrated with their existing infrastructure.

We maintain several open source components that power key parts of the platform, while other modules remain proprietary.

Our flagship product is Lana
, a Bitcoin-backed lending platform designed specifically for institutional clients.

We’re hiring a full-time Senior Rust Backend Engineer to help us build and scale our Bitcoin-native core banking platform. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services using modern architectural patterns, with a strong focus on Rust and Bitcoin technologies. You’ll work closely with other engineers to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance financial infrastructure.

• 5+ years of professional experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Rust

• Experience building systems using event-driven and event-sourced architectures.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design

• Experience integrating and working with LLMs in day-to-day development work.
• Knowledge of open-weight models and practical experience using them; experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a plus.
• Has worked with core banking software, financial platforms, or other high-reliability backend systems.
• Deep interest in Bitcoin and motivation to drive its adoption in regulated financial systems.
• Strong product sense — able to translate business and financial requirements into clean technical solutions.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment with trade-offs and fast iteration.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience working remotely and asynchronously across time zones.

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services in Rust with a focus on event-driven and event-sourced architectures.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design to model complex financial domains effectively.
• Build and optimize Bitcoin and Lightning functionality with high reliability and security.
• Contribute to core banking features such as lending, payments, accounting, and custody.
• Actively use LLMs and MCP in your daily workflow to improve productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers and product teams.
• Drive best practices in testing, code reviews, observability, and CI/CD.
• Provide technical mentorship to other engineers.
• Contribute to Galoy’s open source repositories.
