Senior Hadoop Developer III – Ab Initio, Spark & Python

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite each week, generally Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: 40 hours per week

Cloudteam is seeking a Senior Hadoop Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise data applications for a major healthcare organization.

This role requires recent hands-on experience with Ab Initio, Hadoop, Spark, Python, SQL, and stored procedures. The selected candidate will work across existing production applications and new development initiatives while providing senior-level technical design, coding, troubleshooting, and code-review support.

• Design and develop enterprise-scale Hadoop and Spark applications.
• Analyze, support, enhance, and modify existing Ab Initio data-processing solutions.
• Develop Python-based application and data-processing components.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Create and support system integrations and application programming interfaces.
• Produce detailed technical specifications and identify integration points.
• Review code and help establish development and programming standards.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, performance analysis, and production troubleshooting.
• Estimate development work and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
• Support application releases, migrations, and production transitions.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, project managers, vendors, and business stakeholders.

• At least 5 years of professional application-development experience.
• Substantial recent hands-on Hadoop and Spark development experience.
• Strong hands-on Ab Initio development and support experience.
• Advanced SQL and stored-procedure development experience.
• Experience with technical design, code review, unit testing, debugging, and production support.
• Experience working through the full software-development life cycle.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Jacksonville 2–3 days per week.

• Snowflake experience.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another regulated enterprise environment.
• Experience with APIs and cross-platform application integrations.
• Familiarity with Git or comparable version-control tools.
