Position Overview

As a Software Engineer Senior within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Farmers Branch, TX.
Technical Experience- Core Engineering
- Advanced Java expertise:
Core Java, Spring Boot microservices, JUnit, mocking frameworks - RESTful API design and implementation
- Source control using Git Identity, Security & APIs
- Authentication and authorization services; OAuth
2.0 and JWT security models; API management platforms (Apigee) - Strong understanding of modern security best practices
- Advanced Java expertise:
- Observability & Monitoring
- Strong experience improving application observability in enterprise environments
- Hands‑on experience with Dynatrace for APM, performance analysis, and root‑cause investigation
- Experience using Elastic Search / Elastic Stack for centralized logging, querying, and correlation
- Understanding of distributed systems monitoring, metrics, and tracing
- Dev Ops & Delivery
- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent)
- Enterprise Dev Ops best practices; supporting deployments and diagnostics across multiple environments
- Leadership
- Experience leading and influencing engineers without direct authority
- Proven ability to resolve complex production, performance, and reliability issues
- Provide detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
- Propose and design software solutions to address complex business needs.
- Write, test and deploy code, and prepare required technical and procedural documentation.
- Maintain and debug software.

Knowledgeable of values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions, able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Managing risk:
Assess and effectively manage all risks associated with business objectives and activities to ensure adherence to PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
