Summary / Responsibilities
The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for coaching cheerleaders on techniques and routines for events and competitions. This includes managing tryouts, selecting team members, and providing instruction during practices and performances. The coach will also coordinate travel and logistics for cheerleading competitions, develop competitive routines, and ensure team readiness for local and national events.

- Coordinate travel and logistics for cheerleading competitions.
- Develop competitive routines.
- Ensure team readiness for local and national events.
- Experience in competitive cheerleading environments and familiarity with national competition standards.
- This position requires a level II background check.
- Manage cheerleader tryouts and select a team that positively represents a Division I program.
- Coach and instruct cheerleaders on rules, regulations, equipment usage, and techniques.
- Observe cheerleaders during events and practices to determine individual and team improvement needs.
- Coordinate with athletics administrators for game day responsibilities and community engagement.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, NCAA, and NCA rules and regulations.
- Report all known NCAA violations in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and apparel.
- Follow procedures for business office, academics, eligibility, sports medicine, strength and conditioning and marketing.
- Meet annual fundraising goals set by athletic administration.
- Manage the cheerleading program within the allotted budget.
- Hold a current coaching credential recognized by USA Cheer.
- Certified in CPR‑AED or able to become certified.
- Coordinate and lead participation in cheerleading camps and competitions, including collaboration on choreography, travel planning, and performance evaluation.
