Job purpose

The Golf Shop and Outside Operations Associate is a hybrid role supporting both retail/guest-service operations inside the Golf Shop and hands-on outside services on the course. The ideal candidate will be comfortable switching between retail and outdoor operational tasks, delivering excellent member and guest service throughout the week.

Golf Shop Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner.

• Assist with tee time reservations, check-ins, guest inquiries and phone calls.

• Process sales transactions, merchandise purchases, cart rentals, green fees, etc.

• Maintain merchandising displays, restock inventory, ensure the shop is clean and organized.

• Assist with tournament/outings preparation as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Operate within all guidelines, policies, standards and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.

Outside Operations Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with staging golf carts, bag drop, loading/unloading golf bags, and clubs.

• Ensure golf carts are clean, charged, maintained (as per course standards).

• Assist with the driving range, practice facilities: set-up, breakdown, pick-up of range balls.

• Greet and orient members and guests arriving for play; monitor pace of pay and course etiquette.

• Maintain outside service areas in a clean and organized condition (cart barn, bag rooms, staging).

• Assist with climatic/weather monitoring and implement safety procedures (e.g., lightning protocols).

• Support the coordination and smooth operation of tournaments, special events and golf outings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in customer service or retail preferred; experience in a golf course environment is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional demeanor.

• Ability to work flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends and holidays as needed.

• Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, walking/standing for long periods.

• Basic familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and scheduling/tee-time software is beneficial.

• Valid driver's license.

• Interest in golf and golf operations preferred

Working conditions

Work is primarily indoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.
