Jacksonville Golf & Country Club is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Tennis Court Maintenance Associate to help maintain our premier racquet sports facilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining top-quality playing surfaces, and thrives in an early-morning routine.

Located just 10 minutes from the beaches in beautiful Jacksonville, our private, member-owned club offers exceptional amenities, including a championship golf course designed by Clyde Johnston and Fuzzy Zoeller, a heated Olympic-size pool, fitness center, and a welcoming, family-focused clubhouse with four distinct dining venues.

Our vibrant racquet sports program features 10 lighted Har-Tru clay tennis courts with active league play for men, women, and juniors, plus year-round clinics, camps, and social events. Six pickleball courts further expand opportunities for member play and competition.

Job purpose

The Tennis Court Maintenance Associate is responsible for a range of activities involved in the upkeep of the tennis and pickleball courts as well as the pool area. This role also involves performing basic handy work and light repairs around the courts and adjacent facilities as needed. The goal is to provide a clean, safe, and secure environment within the entire sports complex area for Members and Guests.

Duties

and responsibilities
  • Maintain tennis and pickleball court areas in a clean, professional, and safe condition at all times.
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures for all courts, including inspection, grooming, and minor repairs.
  • Conduct routine clay court maintenance such as line sweeping, debris removal, brushing, rolling, and watering.
  • Complete midday maintenance procedures, including sweeping, trash pickup, and surface care.
  • Assist with court setup and maintenance for tournaments, Member events, and special functions.
  • Trash pick-up and removal for tennis/racquetball courts and surrounding area.
  • Communicate with the supervisor about any changes in court conditions.
  • Perform light handy work and basic repairs around the tennis and pickleball courts and surrounding areas, including fencing, benches, signage, and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with small maintenance projects, including minor painting, power washing, and general upkeep tasks to ensure the facilities remain in excellent condition.
  • Protect the assets of the Club.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Two years of tennis court maintenance or maintenance experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working conditions

Work is primarily outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements

Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
