Transportation Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound shipments and manage yard control at the Distribution Center.
• Coordinate with Freight Forwarders, 3PL logistics providers, and internal customer service to ensure proper workflow, shipment prioritization, and order volume availability.
• Lead a team of five administrators across two shifts.
• Measure the effectiveness of Freight Forwarders and 3PL providers through KPI reporting.
• Manage export shipments to the Caribbean and to Custom Bonded Warehouses.
• Develop and execute an efficient load/unload schedule and yard kickoff production.
• Maintain accuracy and execution of DC OFR (order fulfillment rate) and oversee budgetary responsibilities for detention, demurrage, transportation charges, and yard control.
• Utilize the Yard Management System efficiently, producing KPI reports.
• Work closely with the Customs Manager to coordinate, release, and schedule containers from port.
• Audit and process invoices from contracted 3PLs and submit them for payment.

• 5+ years of experience in transportation and distribution.
• Knowledge and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Yard Management Systems.
• Experience with YMS, Freight Forwarders, OTR, and intermodal operations.
• Preferred SAP knowledge.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity and responsibility.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking, and strategic execution skills.
