Yard Truck Driver

Overview

As a Yard Truck Driver
, you’ll get to move loaded and unloaded trailers around our Reverse Logistics Centers as needed. You’ll be responsible for making decisions regarding the movement of trailers to maximize the efficiency of our operation and minimize safety incidents. This person will be vital to the success of our team!

• Operate an automatic Ottawa Yard Truck with the ability to maneuver 53' long trailers into tight spaces without causing damage.
• Perform daily equipment checks such as checking fluid levels, cleaning air filters, examining equipment for damage or leaks, and ensuring loads are secure.
• Inspect loads to ensure they are secure.
• When applicable, operate a forklift to move pallets or materials on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.
• When applicable, stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions.
• When applicable, examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment that meets Relogistics standards.
• Understand that overtime may be required.

• Prior experience driving a yard truck or semi is a plus, not required.
• Good math, language, and reading skills with attention to detail, along with basic computer skills.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.

• Hourly Pay: $18.00/hr.
• Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-2:30am.

• Ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, and air particulate.
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths.
• Noise level in the work environment depends on location.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection at several locations, safety shoes).
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
• Must have a good sense of balance and good eye-hand-foot coordination.
• May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.
