Driver Class A-Truck Driver - HAZMAT & Emergency Response

Clean Harbors in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment at customer sites. The role involves both driving and non‑driving duties related to hazardous waste cleanup.

Position is required to be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.

$27.00 - $29.00 per hour.

All new hires must attend a two‑week training academy.

• Ensure health and safety by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform manual labor on site to meet customer needs.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and reports.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and other governmental requirements.
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental, health, and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Handle site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous materials.

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions required by the job.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Meet facial hair standards as required by OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34.

• Commercial driver experience.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement (previous).
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Previous manual labor experience.
