CDL Class A Truck Driver
The truck driver position requires performing a variety of routine, physical and complex transportation related work in driving a commercial semi-truck and trailer, and coordinating transportation of freight of all kinds throughout the United States.

- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderately loud when not inside the vehicle.
- This is a full-time position. Hours of work will vary and are based on the Federal DOT Hours of Service regulations (duty shifts up to 14 hours).
- Travel is primarily local and or regional and requires night-time hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive and operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
- Make safety a priority at all times.
- Adhere to company, state and Federal rules and regulations.
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
- Remaining awake and alert while at the controls at all times.
- Work erratic schedules when needed, including night time and or overnight driving hours.
- Maintain physical health to ensure continued possession of DOT medical examination certificate.
- Pick-up and safely transport goods to their intended destination on time.
- Ensure contents are properly secured in truck to prevent load shifting, damage/injury
- Utilize technology to perform job duties using various software applications (Logging, digitally submitting paperwork, Fueling, etc.)
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries.
- Assist in mapping driving routes.
- Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
- Communicate with dispatch, safety, other drivers, vendors, etc., as needed.
- Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifesto document (verify BOL info with the actual cargo being loaded).
- Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
- Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
- Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
- Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.).
- Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
- Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
- Track and report working hours.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.
- 3+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Clean driving record with no more than 1 moving violation and no more than 1 accident within the past 3 years.
- Must pass background checks and DOT governed pre-employment drug test.
- Skilled at driving and parking, backing large, heavy vehicles.
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
- Physically and mentally fit.
