Commercial Tire Technician – Jacksonville, FL

Cypress Truck Lines is now hiring Commercial Tire Technicians. This positions is responsible for maintaining the tires of the fleet. This position requires working in a shop environment. The hours and physical demand may vary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains tires of fleet in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Inspects fleet tires, wheels, and related components per company maintenance schedules.
• Identifies and replaces work tires, wheels, and related components.
• Mounts and dismounts tires
• Maintains and secures tire inventory and tire equipment to ensure safe working order.
• Professional interaction with Company Drivers/Employees
• May assist in other areas of the vehicle maintenance shop as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling and climbing).
• Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of tire repair and replacement.
• General knowledge of components of truck wheels and tires.
• Ability to move, stack, and store wheels, tires and other heavy components alone or with the aid of equipment.
• Must be able to use torque and impact wrenches.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred.
• A valid DOT medical card or able to obtain prior to hire, preferred.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
